PureHoney Technologies Partners with Cosmo Bio to Offer RapidFire-MS and Affinity Selection-MS Services in Japan

Partnership aims to provide access to PHT assay development and analytical services for Japanese clients.

BILLERICA, MA and TOKYO, JAPAN, (April 24, 2018).  PureHoney Technologies and Cosmo Bio Company have announced a partnership that aims to facilitate access to PHT assay development and analytical services on the RapidFire-MS and Affinity Selection-MS platforms for Japanese clients. The PHT team has decades of experience on the RapidFire platform and has worked closely with clients ranging from top pharmaceutical companies to small biotechs on hundreds of projects and assays. Cosmo Bio is a leading biotechnology company headquartered in Tokyo, Japan and offers a wide range of reagents, kits, instrumentation to Japanese and international clients. The two companies will work together to provide PHT CRO services including both the development of novel assays for clients who already have access to their own RapidFire-MS systems as well as complete analytical solutions where samples for Japanese clients will be run in PHT laboratory in Billerica, MA. “We are excited to expand our business into Japan where there is a large number of RapidFire systems already installed in numerous drug discovery organizations,” said Can Özbal, PureHoney Technologies President and CEO, “We hope to be able to assist these clients with the development of new assays and analytical techniques to help enable new targets and therapeutic areas to be explored.” PHT has been working with clients in North America since the launch of operations in January 2015 and clients in Europe since 2017. PureHoney Technologies Enters Drug Discovery Research Market with Label-free High Throughput Mass Spectrometry Services for Pharma and Biotech Clients.

Experienced team offers expertise and screening services to quickly enable challenging analytes and intractable targets.

ACTON, MA (January 5, 2015). PureHoney Technologies today launched its contract research services for drug discovery clients, which specializes in accessing hard to reach targets. Founded by the original developers of the RapidFire Mass Spectrometry system, PureHoney Tech uses this label-free, high-throughput platform to enable screening of challenging targets for a vast number of high-value therapeutic areas such as cardiovascular, metabolic disease and epigenetics.

“Researchers have moved on from the targets representing the ‘low hanging fruit’ to investigating more challenging ones which may have a greater impact on the discovery of novel therapeutics,” said Can “Jon” Özbal, Ph.D., President and CEO of PureHoney Tech. He cited, however, that some of those assays are not amenable to the traditional screening approaches used in most HTS laboratories. They are often too difficult or too time consuming and costly to screen or, as with labeled, indirect or coupled assays, are susceptible to confounding factors and data artifacts. Dr. Özbal said, “We can help accelerate our client’s discovery projects with our expertise and screening of intractable targets using the ultrafast label-free RapidFire platform providing reliable data with unparalleled turn around times.”

PureHoney Tech applies mass spectrometry-based screening to a wide range of targets, including those with substrates such as lipids, fatty acids, phospholipids, steroids, prostaglandins, and other compounds not generally amenable to conventional screening techniques. They offer a broad range of early stage services including: enzymology and characterization of targets, custom HTS assay development, hit identification, fragment-based screening, hit validation, SAR screening and in vitro ADME sample screening.

PureHoney Technologies headquarters and screening laboratories are located in Acton, Massachusetts. Executives from the company will be at this year’s SLAS conference February 7th to 11th in Washington , D.C. and attendees are invited to visit booth #348 while at the show.
